The construction involved engineering works related to the substructure, foundations, and associated civil works on this extraordinarily challenging crossing, where the river flows through a deep gorge with sheer cliff faces, extreme wind velocities, and seismic zone conditions that demanded unprecedented design innovation and construction precision.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chenab Railway Bridge, upon completion, became the world&#8217;s highest railway bridge, towering approximately 359 metres above the riverbed \u2014 surpassing even the Eiffel Tower in height \u2014 and stands as a defining symbol of India&#8217;s engineering ambition and capability in connecting the Kashmir Valley to the national rail network for the first time.
